We love the look of Lab Glass at Home. Last week we stumbled across this amazing artisan candy shop in NoLITA — PapaBubble — that uses lab glass in their open and minimalistic candy-making kitchen...
And while the candies were colorful and fascinating to look at (they even sell over-sized sculptural lumps of art candy), we wanted the kitchen with all the materials and ingredients organized and accessible!

(Caution: PapaBubble uses almond oil to lubricate the candy-making surfaces, so those with nut allergies should watch out!)

i also once randomly stumbled upon them - and this little kid pulled us into the store, gave us lots of free samples, and we ate it up! i ended up buying a big ole bag of candy. their store is AWESOME looking and super yum. i love the name, too.
My nose introduced me to the PapaBubble store in Barcelona. One afternoon, I found myself wandering down narrow alleyways trying to track the source of this mouth-watering smell. When I walked into the store, I found two guys working with molten candy: one guy was rolling and cutting pieces on a slab, the other repeatedly throwing and stretching this bright, sugary, mass around a hook as if he were working pizza dough (with rather innovative moves) or engaging in a one-man taffy-pull. A free sample -- and all the pretty colors! -- inspired me to make a purchase.
SWOON!! and in the name of sugar, no less!
love it.
Soooo yummy! make sure to get there for a hot piece of their gooey madness as that's the proper way to sample this stuff. also try the pebbles, their a bit softer and delish!
