Normally, people reserve carvings on doors to free-standing pieces or entry ways. However, we love the concept of this engraved pattern on the cabinets and kitchen island featured in the February Living Etc.
We think it works extremely well because they left it tonal, adding a sophisticated texture to an otherwise plain white kitchen. The owners found a wallpaper they liked and had a carpenter carve the pattern. A simpler way could be to paint a tonal pattern with a large repeat. Has anyone tried something like this?
