We've been looking for downloadable stencils for DIY projects recently (like these storage boxes), and stumbled upon these chair back silhouettes by Will Gurley. They make a simple, tounge-in-cheek statement that could pretty neat if cleverly applied.

While we're not sure we're daring enough to go headlong into using these, the creative possibilities are fun to think about — such as stenciling these in a row on the back of our sofa, that floats in the middle of our living room (meaning the back is visible from many angles — why not spice it up?).

The kit is £10.00 to download four designs: The Windsor Chair, classic and Oriental Chippendale's, and purportedly a Charles Eames’ Wire Mesh Chair (sadly, we couldn't find a picture of that one).

this is like the recent post on the wall stencil for a bed headboard. i don't understand these...doesn't look good at all and serves no function. it's like trying to do a DIY Banksy piece in your house, but not being successful.
i guess the ones on shirts could be cool...
Ah ha, that's totally awesome! I love the garden bench "chair."
i get the tongue in cheek but the one on the fence looks...bootleg
