We stumbled upon this great looking chalkboard calendar by Pinch Design. This is an idea that could work well with families with lots going on - playdates, piano lessons, dentist appointments, book club. Everything is clearly written but can be changed at a moments notice.
We like this chalkboard calendar's 3-dimensional quality and would love to see a similar installation on our kitchen wall.

This is really a great idea and you could make it as large or as small as you wanted to. If you did it larger you could buy a box of colored chalk and everyone in the family could be represented by a different color on the calendar.
