Jenn of A Merry Mishap recently painted this gorgeous chalkboard wall in her home office. Although she came across a few dilemmas, the result is great. Her use of clever organization and a natural color scheme really make the chalkboard stand out.
Jenn came across a frequent problem; although she taped off her wall, the texture resulted in an uneven edge. She solved this problem by hand-painting a new edge. My favorite part is her unique use of IKEA storage pods. Jenn nicely separated the two sections of her desk with these round containers. A great way to contrast from the hard edges of the paint.
See Jenn's blog, A Merry Mishap, for more photos and her summary of the project.

I really adore chalkboards! this result is great! I just wonder what about the dust due to the chalk (which is my general question concerning chalkboards) and in this one particullarly, I can see a PC in front of it. The chalk may cause damage to it...
Nice space :D
Great office space! Tip: paint out the tape line first in the wall color before putting on the chaulk board paint. Then if any paint bleeds beneath the tape it will be the current wall color. Creates perfect lines every time.
This is AMAZING! Great idea... and the room is perfectly organized...
This space is nice but I'm not a fan of the chalk-board-paint craze. Dusty, unsightly, and who really wants to see a "TO DO" list emblazoned in an insane scrawl on the wall?
(And, will the walls ever be the same again if one decides to paint over it?)
Chalk board paint strikes me as a solution for which no problem existed. Because chalk board paint happens to be available, people look for things they can turn into chalk boards.
The best way to keep chalkboard dust at bay is to use liquid chalk pens - they're awesome!
