Look! Classic French Linen Cushions

Oh we just want to smoosh down on these linen cushions and have ourselves a Fall picnic or settle for a smooshy comfy cozy time inside.

So as Summer slowly drifts into Fall, bring some of that summer feeling in with linen cushions (with a chic french stripe no less). Despite how they look in the photos, they're super soft and perfect for lining a window seat or using as floor cushions. Plus they're really (really) durable. Find them at Colcha in Venice.

Gorgeous. There's a funny little shop (wish I knew the name of it) on Abbot Kinney in Venice, CA that usually has stacks of antique striped linen. Here's a picture from a couple years back:

makes me ponder.. this seems like an example of 'why didn't they just recycle the fabric instead of repurposing it into something which will garner a 400% markup and which will inherently contribute to more global warming thanks to the effects of production and shipment'. eh. sometimes it's just nicer not to consume.

I've been trying to remember where I read instructions for making this kind of cushion. I want to make one for a wooden bench that has recently come into my life. Does anyone know? I think it was in an older book ...

I like these a lot. I would be interested in how to DIY them - looks like a simple box cushion with some sort of tufting-like action around the edges?
