Over the weekend we saw this large glass jar full of colorful golf tees for sale in an antique collective. It reminded us of Abbey's collection of bread bag ties...

I've been collecting spagetti jars to do something like that Anthropologie display, but it keeps not happening.
The demijohn is great, the golf tees aren't. And the bread bag tabs were a mistake. Masses of mundane items aren't really a collection--they're just stuff.
That reminds me of my mom's matchbook collection. She had so many they filled up several giant glass jars just like that. I think she eventually gave it away when she moved a few years ago - too bad. She had been collecting since the 60's, and some of them were really neat - like the vintage Harrah's casino matches.
I like it. I have a massive glass vessel filled with matchbooks and boxes. I display it proudly! I've also seen huge jars full of cigar bands, which was nice.
I have a button collection, marble collection, mini-chair
collection and tea pot collection- oh almost forgot the sea
shells....probably left some out.
