Look! Compact Furniture For Overnight Guests

It's always nice to be welcomed into someone's home as a guest. When there's a cozy bed, a nightstand for a book and a glass of water and the space to put your bag down and unwind, you feel at home. But what about when you're playing host and your tiny apartment doesn't have a separate guest room?

The Stay at My Home furniture from designasyl offers a compact way to keep a little guest area ready to go. It includes a mattress, removable drawer, lamp and carpet and is stored in and around a side table when not in use.

Don't you realize that posting something from another design site on your own site is extremely lazy?

Why not just tell your readers to read dezeen because they post original designs?

This is a sweet idea.

I'd like to see it with maybe an air mattress (and electric pump) hidden within the table instead of the totally visible sleeping roll.

Interesting, but I fail to see how this is ANY better than sleeping on a couch.

The point is to make guests feel at home. Not make them feel like their crashing in dorm room.

Still, I suppose for the right age group without achy joints, this might seem like a good solution.

My back hurts just looking at that setup!

This is an okay idea. But I don't like how the little roll-up mat is visible. For something really cool, I know this awesome line of furniture that is sure to make your guests (and everyone else) go crazy!

They're called "Space Saving Beds" and they are akin to modern Murphy beds w/ sofas or desks or shelves on the front. You don't need a guest room when your guests can pull a bed out from behind the desk or the sofa!

hm. the mattress is bound to gather a lot of dust, isn't it? at least at my place it would :-D i have a three part foam mattress for guests that i can stow away out of sight in my closet, and a small reading lamp that lives in a drawer, and i find that a better solution for my small place. that high table isn't making too much sense when you are sleeping on the floor anyway.

I like this. Not in all settings, not for all people. But a brilliant idea for a niche market! I would give one of these in a heartbeat to my single-dad-in-an-apartment-nephew to help his daughter with overnighters. They'll love it! (and no, I don't mind the link...geez)

AT links posts on Craig's List, for pete's sake... they don't have their own brand - they write about how to get creative with varying budgets and tastes, enlisting a multitude of brands, sites, and ideas.
