We came across this fabulous storm door on our walk the other night. It reminds us of the shutter doors on the shotgun houses in New Orleans...
We know that the floor to ceiling shutters on shotgun house helped keep out the light but yet allowed ventilation during the hot summer’s months. A louvered shutter door such as this one would also have these benefits.
The utilitarian aspics of this door may be uncertain but it definitely gives this rowhouse a feeling of southern charm!

it has charm, but the scale of the washington door looks funny to me because I'm used to the ones in new orleans
nice, i like the idea of a screen door that allows for privacy.
needs one on the bottom door also.
also needs better house numbers (not on an angle).

I have the original louver outer door that was built for my house, but prefer the glass front "storm" door. It's nice to know the 3 previous owners havekept all of the pieces intact since 1928.
This just gave me a wonderful idea for doors for the storage shed/ tiki bar that I am building in my back yard. Love it.
