If your home is anything like ours, you're bound to have one or two spaces that never seem to have enough storage space. And usually, when we we're faced with this challenge, we've always found amazing results when we've repurpose items for storage spots (not to mention, the options are usually quite affordable). Let's take a look-see at Ashli's creative solutions that we just can't get enough of.
In the kitchen Saying no to the traditional pot rack and saying yes to IKEA's BJÄRNUM hat/ shoe rack, Ashli goes vertical and places it above the kitchen sink. Deciding that traditional pot racks can be quite pricey (and the fact that her hubby is quite tall) the rack was destined to live over the sink. We love the modern look and feel to Ashli's spin on a pot rack--and it just so happens that the lids fit perfectly on top!
In the bathroom We instantly zeroed in on Ashli's bathroom (not only is it charming, we noticed her chrome inbox repurposed as a towel holder). A friend of ours uses her chrome basket for all things paper but we're kinda loving it used as a spot to hold extra towels.

That's not a Bjarnum shelf in the Kitchen
It's a Gruntdal - and it was made to be used like that.
The Bjarnum hat/shoe rack has the square bracket sides and significantly less depth - much too shallow for lids, etc. That does indeed appear to be a grundtal rack which is sold for use in the kitchen to store plates or whatever you please.
This is adorable over the sink/window, but yes, this is pretty much exactly what the shelf is sold for: you can buy the S hooks with it. Do a quick google search for "grundtal shelf" and you'll get images of people who've used the hooks to hang mugs or oven mitts, or who've draped their tea towels over the bars of the rack. Very useful shelving.
can we get a source on the chrome hanging baskets? thanks!
I think the Grundtal is supposed to be bathroom shelving, but when I first encountered it (summer sublet) it was in the kitchen, too. Very useful indeed, especially with S hooks and such.
I *actually* repurposed this shelving and used it in my walk-in closet for my handbags and I love it!

Thanks so much Beth, for showing some storage solutions from our Manor. Our Ikea store has this shelf in their entrance and bathroom section, But people are right It is the Gruntdal Shelf (my fault), but it is sold as bathroom shelving. It works famously for a pot rack though.
The chrome baskets are something everyone always wants to know where I sourced them from, the good news is they were $6.99 each, the bad news is they are from The Real Canadian Superstore, only in Canada. Although I think they also do business under the name LOBLAWS.
Thanks again Beth and apartment therapy!
Cute! I love the bathroom idea.
The chrome inbox is a great idea! Plenty of extra towels available, and not crammed into a closet where the terry can't breathe.
I didn't know you could get a dish rack that went in the sink! I'm in my first dishwasher-free apartment, so I'm excited to hunt one down!
