Along with "keeping it weird" and super eco-friendly ideas, bicycles are something often considered synonymous with Austin. Travel anywhere in this city and you'll see a bike or two zooming in and out of traffic or along a sidewalk. Lance Armstrong even made Austin his home! Whatever your level of biking---whether you cycle everyday, just bike occasionally or haven't been on a bike since you were a kid---a cycling getaway is worth the consideration…

Along with walking, a bike ride is a great way to get exercise and experience parts of your city you've never seen before. For those who cycle everyday, the benefits of a good bike ride seem obvious. If you haven't ridden in awhile, now might be the perfect time! They say you never forget...

Even if you don't own a bike yourself, there are plenty of places to rent bicycles here in Austin and in most other cities. If you do decide to go on a cycling trip with your own bike, make sure and check the bike to make sure it's road-ready before you take off. We've gathered some resources for you to prepare for your own cycling getaway here in Austin:
