You want to know how to tell if your children are getting older and you're finally starting to get back some discretionary time? You find yourself building a miniature replica of Mies van der Rohe's Farnsworth House.
Says Josh, dad of almost-two-year-old Camden:
Camden is becoming more interested in playing make-believe, so I made him this small (very-nearly scale) replica of the Farnsworth House. The roof is removeable and there is no back wall, allowing easy access. I'm still working on furniture, but there will be no curtains.

See the original Farnsworth House.

very cool!
I love this! So cool.
The removable roof is genius. I wonder, is it hard to cut your own plexi?
That is so awesome. My favorite "toy" when I was a child was the dollhouse my father built for me from scrap lumber and various materials. A three story beauty, with windows and staircases.
