One of the great things about traveling is the sense that you're constantly stumbling across pockets of unexpected beauty. In Northampton, Massachusetts we found the Green Street Cafe just beyond the edge of the Smith College campus, and we enjoyed some homemade sorbet in this room...
We loved the walls, which were the color of a blood orange. We don't know the paint name or number, but it looked amazing against the dark green and navy blue upholstery on the chair cushions. Other great details included the antique chairs and tables, the bud vases stuffed with flowers, simple glass and silverware, and handwritten menus.
The restaurant has a website and a Flickr photo gallery with lots more images of the cafe and garden.

Sprout Side Table
Long time reader of AT here, but I had to finally register to post when my alma mater came across the screen. Green Street Cafe was always a favorite, happy to see it's looking so good!
I like the chairs! My friend bought some of these as "samples" on The Bowery in New York, but I've never been able to track them down.
My living room is this exact same color. It's Behr Pumpkin Patch from Home Depot if anyone's interested. Looks absolutely identical to these pics!
THANK YOU. i love that color. my mother made me an afghan with blues and tans and whites that i changed my whole color palate around this afghan but decided this deep orange would be the best pop color. from vases to pillows to old '70s chairs, it really echos of my parquet floors.
it is a wonderful restaurant; unfortunately, smith college is trying to close the restaurant so that it can expand its campus. i hope this doesn't happen - we would be a huge disappointment for the community.
