One of the great things about traveling is the sense that you're constantly stumbling across pockets of unexpected beauty. In Northampton, Massachusetts we found the Green Street Cafe just beyond the edge of the Smith College campus, and we enjoyed some homemade sorbet in this room... We loved the walls, which were the color of a blood orange. We don't know the paint name or number, but it looked amazing against the dark green and navy blue upholstery on the chair cushions. Other great details included the antique chairs and tables, the bud vases stuffed with flowers, simple glass and silverware, and handwritten menus. The restaurant has a website and a Flickr photo gallery with lots more images of the cafe and garden.
