Walking in the Mission the other night, we suddenly found ourselves on a dance floor in the street! A neighbor had installed a small disco ball and lamp in the crook of a branch, and turned it on for all of the passers-by to enjoy...
We were pleasantly surprised that the lights and overall effect was not as glam and gawdy as we would have imagined; rather it gave a soft, glittery twinkle to the tree and the sidewalk. Because the ball was nestled so nicely within a leafy bough, it created a canopy of illuminated leaves above, and a fluttery light show below.
We love this idea, and can absolutely picture it in our backyard. Thanks for sharing the twinkles, neighbor!

OMG! That is genius! We should all have neighbors like that!
(P.S. We are sooooo doing that for the holidays especially!)
I know this isn't the Castro but it DID take place in san Francisco but I suspect it was a gay(s) having a gay old time and decided to share w/ everyone. :-)
spiralcma - you & me both - fabulous! So Mission St. downtown meets Studio 54 uptown!
Shake your booty!
Huh, there must be two. I saw a disco ball in someone's corner window doing the same thing. I think it was 22&Treat, but I could be wrong.
