Downspouts are often unsightly and boring. Why not turn your downspouts into something a little more creative? These planters sprout from the downspout and use the water being sent down the building for the plants! Find out more after the jump.

Part of the Growing Vine Street project and designed by artists, these downspouts bring partially filtered water down into a neighborhood cistern through the artfully designed corrugated pipes.

Not only do these downspouts elevate the look of the typical gutter system they also are an ingenious way of keeping plant material watered using run off.

A small part of a much larger visionary concept for greening the city, you can take this little idea and implement it into your home design fairly easily.
