Hmmm...John Demsey's former bachelor pad was all kinds of chic and quirky and wonderful (and also currently nonexistent as he got married last year), but we're featuring it anyway because we're torn over the Eames footstools. On one hand, it's a familiar formula (pairs of X-bench stools come to mind) that works time and time again; and to be honest, it's kind of nice to see something a little off the beaten path. On the other hand, the pair of them appear to be quite large and bulky. What do you think?

Love the footstools-but can do without the white fuzzy throw on the end of the bed- Maybe an exposed foot board would offer a better foundation to anchor the black leather?
They seem weird to me. I would prefer a nice tufted Florence Knoll or Risom bench.
I love masculine style like this.
They are large and bulky, but their masculine effect seems right for a bachelor pad. I'd lose the fuzzy throw, though.
What happened to the accompanying chairs? And won't their low height and swivel capabilities make the ottomans difficult to sit on?
I agree with the others, lose the throw and it works.
another vote for the footstools and another vote against the throw
vote against both the footstools, AND the throw. And the dirty mirrors. AND the crooked photos. And those nasty purple flowers (I just don't like purple flowers, sorry). I also hate that carpet color, which is what we have and I hate it. If they can afford designer footstools, they can afford hardwood flooring.
they look ridiculous and seem to be without function. the color of the underside wood just doesn't work in the context of this elegant, grey, black & white room.
don't like the stools or the throw... Seems unmotivated. The stool wood looks out of place to me.
they look uncomfortable and without purpose there. i'd put them someplace else.
I think they're great!
brilliant and weird - and totally in a good way. A little sad that the tufted buttons have been removed. Incidentally - the authentic Eames ottomans don't swivel, they're pretty stable actually.
I imagine if we all weren't so familiar with the sight of them paired with the chair there would be a lot fewer objections. To me its a great way of putting a classic in a new light.
Looking back at that photo I wish the room were a little more masculine to balance out the foot stools...it seems very pink/frilly to be a bachelor pad.
i think they're the most interesting part of the room!
