At least that's what I thought. Coming home from Helsinki the other day, these two chairs were sitting at one of the coffee shops in the terminal. Upon closer inspection there were actually two built in speakers located on the inside top of the chair along with a plug for your laptop. My guess is that this chair was a knockoff similar to the sphere, chair but nevertheless, a much more stylish way to kill some time at the airport rather than trying to lie down in between the bench arm rests.

These are hot, but I tend to think seating in public places should be plastic, wood, or metal... it seems like they would be easier to clean regularly, and have fewer places for bacteria to grow.

(Though having frequently ridden BART, which has cloth seats sticky with 30 years of hard use, I tend to agree with shani-o that public seating should be amenable to being hosed down.)
Wende/Shanio: while I agree with you guys, somehow, Scandinavian countries (and Switzerland as well) manage to be very clean (its almost magical), i wouldn't be too worried.
But i would love something like this at home
Bookmans Bookstore in Tucson, Arizona had chairs very similar to these back in 2000 when I was in high school. They are pretty cool. I used to check out music and listen in those chairs with a good book.
