While utterly simple, we were very inspired by these living centerpieces, planted in matching French country-style washbowls. We love them for their potential mobility: perhaps grown outside, they wouldn't look out of place in the bathroom, kitchen or living room coffee table.
The image is part of a collection from photographers represented by Sarah Kaye Representation, which deserves its own special mention and is worth a browse.

The roots will rot and kill the flowers if they are left in the bowls.
I love this. Especially if paired with some simple french cafe dishes that have a similar blue stripe.
For those trying to duplicate this look and concerned about root rot, read up on container gardens and make sure you line the bottom of the pan with rocks before adding the soil.
