We love visiting the San Francisco Room and Board, not just to look at the furniture, but to check out their great front walk - concrete impressed with eucalyptus leaves.
We imagine this would be a pretty easy thing to recreate if you were pouring a cement patio or walkway - when the cement is very, very wet, sprinkle some leaves (or anything, really) over it, press them in, and wait for the whole shebang to set up. Instant point of interest, without the need for expensive stone.

I too love this imprinted concrete at the entrance to R&B. I always wonder if the person who created it just threw up some leaves and left them wherever they fell, or spent what little time you have when pouring concrete to design a pattern...

Love it! A local university/wildlife refuge did something similar with trees native to the area.
My mom just did some experiments with clay and found that some leaves, those with deep ribbing on the back, work better than others. Of course, she was working with a vase in soft clay... you don't have to worry about a concrete slab being pushed out of shape while you're pressing leaves in it.
