We wandered into the Chevy Chase Shopping Arcade a few weeks ago to take pictures for our post on Terasol, and were struck by the interior of the space. The black and white checkerboard tiles are just what we want for our kitchen, and the blue vaulted ceiling is a dramatic improvement over the original white...

Opened in 1925, the Chevy Chase Arcade was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. The ornate plasterwork and decorative painting received a facelift a few years ago- we remember a much dingier place from our childhood. In addition to Terasol, the arcade also houses a fabulous art gallery and framing shop that handles all of our framing needs.
