Lantana. Gorgeous. Loves sun and heat. There are lots of colorful varieties available! You can leave them out when you live out West, but out here in Rhode Island I have to bring mine in. I've been able to weather them indoors and drag them back out every spring for 8 or 9 years now (and they'll bloom in a sunny window!). -b

I had one in a container one year. I named it Carlos Lantana.

They have a strange fragrance--it a pleasant way.

I love the Lantana! I love the changing colors and how they seem to be a festival in plant form.

I did try once to grow them where I am, and was not successful. Not enough sun/heat.

These remind me of my summers at my grandparents house in the back country of Mississippi. We liked to catch the butterflies that liked to congregate around them. We also like to pick them and stick them in the holes of our hats and shirts.

My bf and I call them the "mini-bouquets" plant. *lol* Glad to know the proper name.

One of my favorites -- don't know if it will survive winter here. I'll have to see if I can find one and bring it inside when it gets cold. They always, always are blooming!

It's such a prolific, noxious weed in Australia that my honey and I still fall over laughing every time we see it in a pot, and it's been ten years since we moved here from Sydney.

Here in Illinois, Lantana is no weed. Last year I was so happy with my Dallas Red Lantana that I ended up buying 8 of them last month to plant in the front of the house. The winters here are too cold for them to overwinter but while they last, they are spectacular. And they don't mind if you don't water them.

They are sort of weeds in South Carolina where I am from , but the flowers are pretty and I loved them as a child.
