There are thinkers and there are doers. Anna, author of forty-two roads is both. After seeing this (rather expensive) play kitchen on the Nursery, she set out to make her own kitchen for her daughter, Lara.

Anna started by drawing out a plan and then making a paper prototype. The actual kitchen is made from recycled corrugated cardboard which she has covered with contact paper. She cleverly devised a system of joining cuts which mitigated the need for nails, glue or anything else to hold the pieces together. Voila!

Best of all, you can buy her 14-page instruction kit to make your own at her Etsy shop for $7.

Read more about her project on her blog, forty-two roads (here and here).

Brava, Anna!
