We spotted this great idea from AT reader Bridgett. Given to her for her birthday a few days ago, her sister framed up this placemat from Target so she could enjoy it on her wall instead of on the table. We think it's a clever and inexpensive way to present this fun piece of art. Click through the jump for a few more placemats we think might fit the bill.
Thanks Bridgett!

I really like this! Target has some great placemat/napkins out right now and I have been bemoaning the fact that I have no use for PLACEMATS...but I can certainly frame them and pop them up on the wall! Awesome...
wow that is adorable! i wish i had a little girls room to put that in!
Happy 3rd birthday!
Great idea! I'd have never thought to do this.
Makes my teeth hurt...
I have that exact placemat. For me to do it now would just be plagiarizing.
I have the frames. That's a cute idea to go with.
I hope this doesn't sound too cheezy, but it looked good in real life. I punched holes in the corners of several placemats and attached them together with small binder rings making a long wall hanging/screen. They were very simple graphic mats so the repetition wasn't overload. I hung 3 long strips 4 mats each) attached together from the ceiling as a room divider. You could also use ribbon or wire to tie them together, leaving space between each one so they will hang nicely. I don't live in that house anymore and don't have any photos of it or I would show you one. Just use your imagination....
Super cute idea and execution! What a great gift.
Ahhh! I always frame placemats! Actually for a while I was making lightboxes out of them and giving them as gifts.
In my old Brooklyn apt. I made a light fixture on my closet door by putting white fairy lights inside the recessed panels and then covering them with frosty star-patterned placemats from BedBath&Beyond. My friend Tee has had this knife/fork/spoon placemat lightbox I made her years ago in her last few homes.
That Target one is too adorable. Anyone recognize the artist or do you think it's just a general Target design?
potluck, that was hysterical!
