When your smile gets tired during the holidays, let your centerpiece take over. We've drawn smiley faces on our food before, but somehow Martha Stewart makes the practice look a bit more intentional and sophisticated. A bit.
The eyes are made with pushpins, and the mouth is carved and filled with a Sharpie. Hopefully it goes without saying that after this treatment, be sure to cut out the Sharpied part before eating the vegetable.

Haha! This reminds me of a co-worker, who has had this fear of things with googly-eyes since he was a kid. One day, before he got into the office, we outfitted all of his computer pieces (monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard, etc.) with their own set of googly-eyes.
It looked cute for about a minute... and then it was just downright creepy.
Looks like Amy Sedaris is rubbing off on Martha!
Okay, that's pretty cute.
LOL! I have a really busy Friday and this just made may day. Thanks AT.
Aww...sorta makes veggies into pets!!!
SO much easier than carrot roses. Adorable. I love how the smallest one looks worried. Perhaps it knows what comes next!
I actually did this last year and it turned out super well. My root veggies were much taller and slimmer, but they still looked good.
LOVE it :-D
Soopah Cute!
