Walking along the street in Glen Park, we came upon this fantastic entryway to a house. Where there would normally be a gate there is instead a front door, painted this bold shade of yellow...
We love the idea of adding a full front door at the entry of a gate, and furthermore painting it such a striking color. Interesting entryways can make all the difference in a city with so many homes, one after another. We feel like this home is given an instant sunny disposition and a unique personality.
That, and it reminds us of the doors we used to have with our old Lego set in the 80s!

I love bright front doors . . . .this is a nice idea because it doesn't mean you have to be that bold on the house itself. The only downfall I see is that your view out the front is quite obstructed.
cute!
Well....why not? It looks interesting.
I like the idea, but I don't think I'd tack a bright yellow door on the front of an old unfinished façade. But that's just me. And yeah, I'd miss the view.
I think the deadbolt on the door might provide a false sense of security considering how easy it is to scale the fence into which it is built.
Very Peruvian slum... still cute. ;)
I really like the yellow. However, that's one deep drop when stepping down.
Love it... Love Glen Park, too. The neighborhood is full of great design and cozy homes.
Ah Glen Park ... how I miss wandering your streets!
