8-8-Mobile1.jpgWe've been keeping tabs on one of our neighbor's creative home projects. Every month (give or take), this neighbor creates a larger-than-life mobile out of collected objects and hangs it from the front of his/her house. Past mobiles have been crafted using metal scraps, stuffed animals and dolls, tiny liquor bottles, and lots of re-used plastic items. All of the pieces have themes, sometimes tied to an event or holiday happening during the month, other times, they're just appropriate for the season. On our way home from work yesterday, we were delighted to see a brand new creation, this one with an Olympic theme!

8-8-mobile2.jpgLast month, the artist created a colorful and whimsical pleated metal fan. Admittedly, it wasn't our favorite.

8-8-mobile3.jpgBut being crossword puzzle fans, we did appreciate this May/June creation.

8-8-mobile4.jpgSome mobiles aren't just seasonally-themed, but also have a message. In April, in time for Earth Day, the artist reminded us to change our lightbulbs to earth-friendly CFL bulbs.

8-8-mobile5.jpgAnd finally, in March, we were presented with this Easter Bunny mobile. Perhaps the artist's kookiest and creepiest creation yet.

We've never actually seen the person who makes these mobiles, but we've always been impressed with his/her creativity, and the thought and energy put into these massive feats.
