It was the grass green glass splash back that completely drew us in. Searching around architect Grant Amon's website this St Kilda apartment caught our eye and boy are we glad it did. This apartment needed a renovation, particularly in the kitchen and bathroom. However, this was no straight forward renovation as the building is heritage listed…
The heritage listing means that the building is legally protected against demolition or any alteration to the site. So this renovation had to respect and compliment the original interior. The original cabinets were restored and stained while any additional cabinetry was veneered in a matching timber. The original kauri pine floor boards where repolished to near-original condition.
What we really enjoy about this home is that it reminds us of how elegant and simple black and white can be with an occasional hint of color. We're also desperately in love with the Grass Green Glass splash back- and how much fun Grass Green Glass is to say five times quickly.
