It's all about gray and white in Eric and Lauren's Reborn Bungalow.

The white really pops against the gray walls, and of course we like that there isn't too much going on on the walls besides the gray in Polly and Ben's Shangri-LA Bedroom.

A dressed up classic with bits of red and gold: Turquoise's Luxury Hotel Bedroom

We put together these 2 images from Domino because we loved the way the white, black and turquoise mixed with incredible textures make the gray feel so inviting and warm.
And if these didn't float your boat, check out some brighter colors options like adding some orange to your palette, or simply check out the psychology behind the colors you love.

Nomade Express Slee...
These are all gorgeous! I'm thinking about painting my bedroom a light grey, and buying a dark grey headboard for my bed... but I'm scared it might all be a little too grey!
I'm currently in the process of 'going gray' with my bedroom. I think it will contrast nicely with our Heywood-Wakefield pieces in a blonde Hitchcock heroine kind of way.
thanks for the photos! i've been having doubts about doing painting my living room gray but this may have sold me!
My favorites are the rooms that have bright color accents. The contrast is really eyecatching.
Grey is my favorite color [it IS a color!]. My bedroom has a cool grey wall, and I think it's perfect if you're looking for a tranquil mood. I love how much greys change with the light. It's also a great backdrop for accent colors.
Love. Gray with bold pops of mustard yellow, cerulean, teal, magenta or purple are my faves.
The sky is enough gray for me.
I love gray! We recently painted our entire downstairs in shades of pale gray, similar to the Domino living room photo. For those who are interested (since we had such a hard time finding a shade) we get a lot of south facing light and used BM Aura Nightingale. On the walls with less light we used BM Aura Wish (which is lighter and more greige).
i heart grey
(...but i don't lung grey, cuz i quit smoking six months ago)
it's such a pretty color, and so varied, almost as much as white.
i love blue greys the most.
Just looking at these grey bedrooms is relaxing, and my head is feeling more calm and clear, lol
My kitchen has SCREAMING yellow tile on the countertops/backsplashes (which I cannot change) and I've painted the walls a lovely pale green apple color. My dishes and glasses (which are on display) are all clear or white and I have a few small red accessories (towels, mixer, clock). I've been thinking about painting the (doorless) cabinets a light or medium grey (they are currently white) and painting the floor to match. Any reactions to that idea?
love love love my grey bedroom. when my friend first painted it i was a little worried (the room looked very prison-like with no furniture in it) but now -- AWESOME! i used benjamin moore silver half dollar.
Nikkinicole, I think grey and yellow is a hot combination [depends on the specific tones, but I'm sure you could make it work!].
yeah nikkinicole, check out martha's kitchen: gray and yellow are HOT!
Ooh I think I know what color I want to paint my bedroom now...
Last month I decided a warm grey was the right color for my bedroom, probably with a few splashes of yellow. I'd fallen in love with the Forde Abbey paint color in the right-hand Domino photo. Who knew I was channeling the zeitgeist so well? But I have a few concerns before I commit to it:
-The bedroom has very little natural light. The single window opens into a south-facing sunroom, not directly to the outside.
-The wood trim around the door, closet, and window is unpainted wood (light reddish tones - cedar, I think), and I can't paint it. Will it work with the grey? (Also, my furniture is dark cherry-toned wood and natural steel.)
Will that grey work? The ceilings are really high and the top 12" of the wall, above the picture rail, will stay white like the ceiling, so it might not feel too dark.
I used Classic Gray OC-65 (I think thats the number) by Benjamin Moore last week on my bedroom and it's divine. It's VERY subtle, and changes with light. I would highly recommend it.
The first one is my favorite. Very nice.
I had no idea this was trendy. I am in the midst of choosing a grey for my bedroom walls and have grey fabric to recover my headboard!
I had a pale grey bedroom once, with white woodwork and a dark grey pattern on the wall behind the bed. Tiny touches of pink and orange made the cool soft shades pop. I loved that room - waking every morning to colors like a foggy morning by the water.
I painted my living room a soft grey and I love how it changes with the light, in the morning it's green in the afternoon it's blue and the sunset brings a pink cast to the room.
When I moved in the walls were a lighter shade of post-it yellow and people cautioned me that going grey would be depressing in the Pacific NW but I've found it soothing and not at all depressing.
I would have never considered grey as a wall color but the house tour of the bungalow with the grey dining room stole my heart.
our infant daughter's room is painted a charcoal grey...i love it with the white baseboards and white curtains. her crib and changing table are black and we spiced it up with a few bright wall decals. actually, our kitchen/dining room is a light gray again with white baseboards. the kitchen cabinets are also white, floor is white linoleum...appliances are black (not quite up to stainless yet). we're all about the grey.
I painted my 1 BR apartment in Versatile Gray and Popular Gray (Sherwin Williams, Harmony No/Low VOC). I couldn't be happier and get tons of complements from my friends :)
I just finished painting my daughter's bedroom grey! I was a little nervous, but I love how it turned out.
Nikkinicole... I have a bathroom with pale mustardy tiles, which I also can't change. I been trying to figure out what color to paint the walls. Never thought of grey--thanks! It just might work. I'm going back to the hardware store for more samples!
My sister and I are planning a coup - we're going to redo our mom's bedroom, and we've decided on painting it grey. I had to nab that Turquoise link. We're wanting to use red and gold as prominent accents!
Just painted my bedroom a cool silvery gray with a dusty mauve accent wall behind the bed. Dark wood, charcoal bedding and touches of dark plum, bright white and kiwi green. I love my little sanctuary- comfy and calming but with a bit of sophistication.. can't go wrong with gray- it's the perfect neutral backdrop!
Relaxing and peaceful!
We have a cool grey wall in our bedroom, and I love how the color changes slightly depending on the light:

I would like to know the exact name and brand of the paint in the Turqoiuses Luxuary Hotel bedroom. I want this for my bedroom. I have looked at samples and am scared b/c some have a blue look...green...purple...brown. This gray seems to be perfect! Please help:)
