In her Sorted Books Project, artist Nina Katchadourian groups books into clusters, so that titles can be read in sequence.
We love 'em because they make us laugh. (And we wonder how many guests would actually notice if we did it to our own books.)

I'm a strict alphabetizer myself, but I pretty much think this is officially the Best. Thing. Ever.
Once again, this makes me wish I wasn't an academic. I've managed the color-coded scheme with my two shelves of fiction, but there's really no way to avoid subject-oriented organization for the rest of it.
who has the time?
I think it would be a fun art project to photograph your books like this and then frame the photo but I'd never leave my books in that order permanently.
