Wall murals can be painstakingly planned and mapped out or they can be projected onto a wall and traced exactingly, but there's something so personal and loving about a hand-drawn, hand-painted free-form mural like this one in Mikus' room in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Grace of design*sponge featured Mikus' room and animal mural recently and it's a great example of how much warmth and personality a mural can add to plain white walls. It was the creation of Mikus' mom, llubav, and it seems almost like a love letter in paint. See more photos of the mural and llubav's apartment here.
