I love the idea. I'm not sure how well it would pan out indoors, since I don't normally have that wide a variation in temperature--I usually keep within a range of 70-75 degrees F. I suppose this would be best used for "touch and change for fun" situations like the "life is beautiful" poster and the guy shown above.

Even if you keep the overall temperature fairly constant, there are often 'hot spots' near heaters, and in especially sunny spots. It would be interesting to see the intersection of light and patterns, particularly as warm, sunny spots shifted throughout the day.
The blooming flowers are especially gorgeous...
