This time of year it seems that the cards pour in faster than we can read them. Instead of the usual prop-them-on-the-mantle routine, we take the good wishes from friends and family them into a kind of holiday garland of their own. . .
It's a simple project - just secure a piece of yarn with two thumbtacks on either side of the mantle (or door frame, or entry table, really any space will do.) Slip the cards over the yarn and voila! - the cards are displayed and you're one step closer to being done with holiday decorations.
How are you dealing with the influx of "good mail" this season?

Looks great, but what do you do with photo cards?
Binder Clips!
I have this in my own kitchen with all cards and invites we receive in the mail and I use tiny clothespins and binder clips.
I might be crazy, but are those little mustaches in the 2 vases on the left side?
You're not crazy, I too see the mustaches
Um, doesn't everyone do this for christmas cards? - two drawing pins in the wall and a piece of string are commonplace in the UK for the masses of cards you get at christmas
cute idea!
I would like to know where I could get the drawing on the frame? thanks
the framed piece above the mantle is by Lacey Volk - http://www.laceyvolk.com/
Thank u very much for the info. By the way is a great idea to display all holidays cards, too bad I don't have a fireplace :(
