In a small space, architectural details like this are invaluable—if you just keep an open mind. We spotted this tiny home office nook while at a house party in Jamaica Plain and couldn't resist snapping a picture. We just installed our own home office in the corner of our dining room and got to wondering in what unusual nooks you've tucked a computer in your own home...
We've always been laptop people but working from the couch just isn't efficient anymore so we finally broke down and bought a desk. But deciding where to put the desk was the real decision. We would have loved a built-in nook like this to make the decision for us.
Do you have an unusual / architecturally fortuitous spot for your desk?

My desk is also in a nook, a little bigger than that one, but it's so nice how it creates a little office space within a larger living space!
That looks like a mini-den. So cool. I love Dens!
love this one
My college's library had some desks like this around the perimeter of the building. I loved them - privacy and a great view.
Jed turned his closed into a mini-office as well:

Oh... I did this in my condo about 4-5 years ago.
almost everyone in my building followed suit - turning a closet in or near the living room - into an 'office' space.
Here's mine:
