In our internet travels today we came across a great hack for the IKEA Gorm shelving unit. Normally this isn't something we'd think about for use as a countertop, let alone a entire shelving unit and sink surround, but it worked out brilliantly for Thye Foo in Malaysia. This would be a great way to inexpensively makeover a bathroom or a kitchen needing storage! Click through to see the piece in progress.

We love a great idea from our friends at IKEA Hacker and this find is no different.

This is what Thye started with, fixtures and a wall.
Next the building starts and the hacking begins.

It's almost finished at this point, only a few more shelves to add in. Check out the full photo series over at IKEA Hacker to see more of this great use of inexpensive materials.
