Look!: Interior Decor at Candybar

We stopped by the newly opened Candybar over the weekend to try the drinks and desserts, and ended up being most impressed with the decor.

Which is not to say that it is flashy or particularly original by any means, but we liked how a few minimal yet substantial ingredients were able to come together to create a calming and interesting environment. The bathroom received several rave reviews, with our friends concurring it was both "relaxing" and "sexy." We went in to find out what all the fuss was about and were surprised at the simplicity - a large dark wood framed mirror, a vintage bureau with plates of melting white candles, and white subway and penny tiles. Interesting it elicited such a strong response from people, though it was very pleasant. We were also pleased with the artwork, which was created by the owner's sister and consisted of large-scale paintings in minimal color motifs, that, without explicitly matching the decor, did complement the burgundy of the banquettes nicely.

Candybar is located at 1335 Fulton St at Divisadero.
