The latest range of ‘Designers for Target’ features homewares by Jenny Kee. With two ranges, Opal OZ based on the striking colours of Australian Opals and Mali Oz based on the simple strength of contrasting black and white. Kee said of her designs “I create simple designs, which are timeless… My work is about longevity and my collection for Target means that my work will last more than just a season”. Available from Target on 23rd October in selected stores. Honestly, they’re not really our style– do you think they’ll stand the test of time in your house? More images after the jump…

You can see the full range of these homewares over at the Designers for Target website.
*Please note we've been informed that this collection for Target Australia has no connection whatsoever with the US Target.

I like the black/white/red stuff (which I usually don't) but would limit the technicolor stuff to, say, the wall art.
Will it stand the test of time? I doubt it.
Uh...timeless? I'd say this is a lot less timeless than the average Target collection.
I can see buying either of those square vases and holding onto them for a long time. I like the tripod lamp with the red shade as well, although those are trendy and may seem dated in a few years. Still, if you want something that is trendy, you may as well get it at target instead of someplace more expensive.
no.
but i will take that white credenza.
I like the way they are styled in the photos, but not a huge fan of the multi-color linens. The dinnerware and black and white bedding is nice though.
The multi-colored bedding would be great in a pre-teens to teens room. There are better black & white options in the market, these kind of look tacky.
Those colors all tossed together just hurt my eyes too badly.
Not really my style but I don't dislike it. I happen to like the current range of modern and contemporary home from Target.
Horrible, horrible, horrible. Vomit!
I like the smaller items, the big ones are just way too much
Second nod for the white credenza!
@hmillic: Relax, hon. Towel off.
Migraine-inducing.
this all looks very 80's to me. UGH YUCK
the only thing i like is the white credenza. seeing that many of us are simple white affordable credenza starved you would like the usual suspects of retail would catch on and offer something like this. this style is a dime a dozen in europe.
Who knew that Australia has Target?
I *LOVE* the red drum lamp!! Anyone know if it's currently online or in stores? I could only find a link for one with a yellow drum...
-Ruth
I like the base of the red drum lamp but would probably change the shade to something more my color scheme.
The rest of this makes my eyes hurt.
reminds me of those melted crayon shaving pictures everyone did when they were kids... which kinda makes me like it.
:/
Does anyone know where that white credenza is from? It's not a Target piece, is it?
i don't like either the color or black & white pattern items. the only thing that stands out is the red and black lamp. and of course the white credenza.
The Black and White pattern is something we've seen before Here, it's execution is dull and a little naive. Ms. Kee needs to look up on her pattern history. Marimekko anyone?
As for the other it looks like both bad parts of the eighties and cheap hotel graphics. definitely not successful---maybe you could dye the white fabric a navy it would work in a more subtle way.
tell me more about melted crayon shaving pictures deeboyayay?
Meanwhile, I think Jenny Kee can call here collection 'timeless' because she bangs out the same violating multicoloured 80's patterns in every decade of her career.
I absolutely *HATE* this. I'm almost embarassed just looking at it - who wants 'Oz' scribbled on their quilt cover? Everything about it is so tacky.
I forsee big 75% off stickers for this range in the near future.
The black and white isn't bad (well, some of it - the white doona cover is pretty dodgy), but the eighties-esque technicolour OZ stuff? Um, no. ...And crap, I just noticed the 'oz' motif on the black and white stuff. Who thinks this is a good idea?!
Jenny Kee seems to be excellent at recycling designs, as evidenced in the link below (me and my sister on a suspiciously similar sheet set in the eighties.)

Though the quilt cover isnt pictured in my shot,I vividly remember it looked pretty much the same as the one above. What's the bet they've been sitting in a warehouse for 20 years, and have just been repackaged?
