Look! Kid-designed pillows

Tiny happy kids. When we first saw this pillow we thought it had a cool, yet sophisticated Japanese aesthetic and then we read on to learn it was designed and painted by a child as a rainy day project. Fun!

We shouldn't be too surprised - these are the children of New Zealand mom and author of the crafty blog, Tiny Happy. Her daughter, Keira, happily painted directly on the fabric using fabric paint while her son, Arlo, drew his train design onto freezer paper. Mom cut out the design and Arlo painted it in like a stencil. See his work-in-progress and some instructions about heat-setting the designs here.

Our mom sometimes digs up artwork we made as kids and we'd love to have a childhood memento like this. Thanks for the inspiration Tiny Happy!
