We're always excited to discover young, talented designers with an eye toward creative reuse. Polish design group Kompott transform humble, elementary objects such as wooden crates and ladders into functional furniture and modular storage solutions.

We're particularly taken with the Ladder Set, an expandable freestanding wall unit that can be customized for any space. Although it's not yet available for sale in the U.S., a similar unit could be constructed using ladders and simple wall cabinets like IKEA's Aspvik cabinet.
With such artful ideas, it's no wonder Kompott was awarded first prize in Poland's Young Design competition earlier this year. See more of their designs on their site: www.lovekompott.com.

White Enamel Four-P...
Looks like an IKEA wall system that wasn't put together very well...
I think it's cute, but I don't think there should be doors on the shelves. The ladders will make it difficult to open/shut them.
it looks like something just slapped together that could fall apart at any moment.
I don't think there is anything simple about this. You have to have a pretty good fit between the ladder opening and the cabinet. Not something for amateurs.
Love the idea and the look.
My two cents: sliding doors seem awkward. Also its not that much shelving comparative to the total space the furniture occupies, so I would be interested in seeing what a more compact version would be like.
Takes up to much space, hate it.
