Pretty from above. The space above a door is not usually the first place people would look for a design element. This laser etched design on wood panels was inspired by a tree that is located on the property of last year's Yale Building Project House.
Each year, architecture students from Yale build houses in New Haven for low income residents. We love the idea of taking a small area that is generally overlooked outside, and adding a fun design element to it. A similar effect might be achieved with paint or perhaps stenciling something with wood stain.
