Look! Lavender(ish) Room

We spotted this photo in a feature that Desire to Inspire posted spotlighting Luis Albuquerque's still life photography....and we say: forget the Eames chair and textile pillows--what is THAT paint color? It's gorgeous! Not quite purple, not quite pink...it goes beautifully with warm walnut tones AND bright (almost neon!) yellows and chartreuse. Anyone have any idea?

i would call it purple - grape purple with a brown undertone. really like it (and the room).

It looks likes a dark mauve to me.

Definitely grape, not lavender, but it looks nice though.

I have a piece of art that has to be by the same artist! I cannot read the name! I found it at a consignment shop and I love it. If anyone knows please, please let me know!

If you use acrylic or oil paints, this color is called MAGENTA. Of course you can lighten it with white to get a range of magenta hues. I suggest people who like this color buy lil tubes of acrylic paint in magenta and white and blend until you find the shade that appeals to you. Put in on a canvas and see how it looks.

Who knows what home paint suppliers call it since they have funny names that have little to do with the actual color.
