While Arne Jacobsen’s Series 7 Chair can be seen in every second café in Melbourne, Lisa Jones take on this chair is one we haven’t seen before. Her pieces are inspired by da Vinci’s anatomical drawings and each chair represents a human organ system [glandular, bronchial, circulatory, nervous and excretory]...
The pieces are created from a mix of plywood, felt, steel, silicone and thread and we think they’re as beautiful as they are intriguing.

White Enamel Flatwa...
too. cool.
These are insane! I love them.
Incredibly beautiful! Are they really meant for sitting? They look too delicate.
amazing. i want one of each.
It's not that I don't like this, it is very surprising, just that for some reason these chairs really disturb me... as if they had been eaten by some sort of worm... freaks me out.
They're cool. But I'm thinking they're not meant for seating.
Despite looking delicate as Griffin mentioned... I would think clothing fabric would get caught in the details.
Hmmm.
I just had a design-gasm.
The gland chair has potential.
Brilliant!
I like the concept of manipulating the design of the Series 7, especially carved plywood, but something just rubs me wrong about these pieces. I'd much rather view them in a gallery than add them to my home.
I keep saying macabre can be chic, and look!
