Look!: Little Green's Window Film

Little Green sent us this photo. She writes: I like the commercial window films that come with patterns, but we made do with clear contact paper. This is the window in my daughter's room. The windows are old and set low and there is a neighbor's front door right outside her window and this seemed like a good idea to provide privacy without sacrificing light.

Did you use an exacto knife? How did you get such rounded cutouts?

I just drew on the back side (paper side) of the contact paper, measured out the window width and cut with scissors. I did this one really fast and could have done it better, ah hindsight.

Very sweet! I like the squares too, with the little bits of outside peeking in along the edges. Might have to try this for my facing-the-neighbor's-ganky-wall kitchen window!

i've shopped for contact paper and all i seem to find is the totally clear contact paper or a translucent one with a diamond pattern. did you use the totally clear one & get a translucent look or is there a translucent one?

I'm sorry, I should have noted that this is the totally clear contact paper. when put on the window, it blurs and diffuses the light and does not appear clear any longer.
