We wrote about Urban Outfitters' Magnetic Wall Organizer a few months ago, and ended up picking one up for our family's vacation home soon after. We bought the blue, but upon arrival it was just too bright for us. After a few quick coats of white spray paint we were ready to go.
It was easy to install next to the phone, where it comes in handy as a message center and a landing strip - keys go on the hooks underneath and cell phones and wallets fit perfectly on the shelf.

That looks handy - but I would have stuck with the blue.
I can't believe you actually have a -- gasp! -- landline!!!
Sold out. :-(
someone should write a posting about living without a landline. I'm on the fence about where to put the stuff that would normally go near my phone now that my phone can be anywhere.
cell-phone-only people, who are your carriers?
Looks like office (work) type stuff --- ugh!

verizon. i'm in southern arizona. i haven't really had any problems with them. their coverage isn't 100% infallible as they'd like you to believe, but it's fine. plus i know a lot of other people who are on verizon and i get free calling to them. i just use a basic-ish $40 plan and it gets me by.
What's that funny looking device on the wall? The one with the pigtail curly thing hanging down? ;-)
Cell phone only user here, but then, I live in Europe and a *lot* of households here don't have landlines. The only time I've had an issue with the network being down is on New Year's or when the Eurocup is on. ;)
I know there is a radius on the corners... but being a Gumby I could and probably would hurt myself on it.
OMG! We used to have that phone exactly... actually we probably still do somewhere.
We do have a landline, with a cord, because it's hurricane country and they operate independantly of the electricity. I guess we could get one of those crank cell phone chargers instead... but that would entail me getting off my tush and finding something to buy.
Not sure if anyone is still looking at this post, but you can find the mint- and red-colored ones at RexArt (for $10 cheaper! woowoo!) http://www.rexart.com/tbt_cupboard.html#12359
Just got mine today and it is loverly...
@bluwmoonmolly: Danke! I was still looking for one.
Cell phone only user here with Cingular/AT&T. I have a notepad on my desk where I can write any important messages. Other than that, all the takeout menus stay in the kitchen and theres a shopping list pad on either the fridge or counter that can double for notes in that room. Not to mention either of the notepads can be grabbed and moved to wherever I need them (like if I'm working on a project and need to be in the living room, looking at it while I get advice over the phone or something.
