Look! Matching Armoires and Walls

Here's one way to give a small home the illusion of a little bit more space: paint the bulky furniture (like these armoires) the same color as the walls. Not only does it gives the walls a bit more dimension, it also gives noteworthy surroundings and accessories a lot more emphasis.

I'm about to paint my living room and was wondering what to paint my armoire. this is a great idea.

I'm about to move to an apartment that has no closet in the living room. I was thinking of putting my armoire there, and now you've TOTALLY inspired me!!!

wow, that's a great idea. i will have to keep this in mind for when i'm no longer a renter with a painting restriction!

Totally cool idea. Just the other day a friend suggested that I paint the closet door in my living room the same color as the walls. Now I can see that it would give more depth.

I have an early American style china cabinet in maple. I'm not especially fond of it (an inheritance by default---no one else wanted it) but it is a well-made piece and I have used it daily for 12 years because of the drawers and storage. I've thought about painting it sort of denim blue, but painting it the color of the walls is a great idea ...

even the off white takes on the same effect. thinking it might be a solution for my kitchen cabinets....

what does everyone think of painting a desk the same color as the wall?
