A stop in a small antiques shop in Litchfield, MN unearthed these ceramic decanters. No other search has produced one since.
The proprietor gave us the particulars: mid-century ceramics used primarily to serve coffee and tea. The broad, slightly scandi wooden handles are attached with metal bands and screws. These two were the last survivors of an estate collection owned by a little old lady whose name probably ended in -son.
Unmarked but for a three-digit number, the maker was unknown. We loved the shape, colors and the juxtaposition of cheerful ceramic with the raw-ish metal and sturdy, grip-welcoming wood.
Anyone know anything about these?

I've often seen similar at the Rosebowl flea market. Most of the ones I've seen are from Bauer, which was/is manufactured in Los Angeles. A quick search on eBay pulled up the following auctions - hope this helps!:

I've got the yellow one (exact same) in my NYC apartment. I got it from a friends 93 yr old aunt who died in NYC.
I swear Fiesta used to make something like this long ago. My grandmother has one.
What the??? The last thing I expected to see was someone talking about Litchfield!!!! I grew up there until I was 12. They have fun little shops. When I was younger there was a men's clothing store that used a can and a rope type of mechanism to send your payment up to the cashier on the 2nd floor, then they would shoot your change and receipt back down. Awww memories!
