We love this tiny kitchen counter in the center of S & S's Arlington bungalow. It's the perfect size space for opening mail, eating a bowl of cereal or taking a short break from work to catch a little daytime TV. The roundabout layout of the house also makes this the ideal vantage point to keep tabs on almost every other room in the house...

The large, graphic art makes this small island (or maybe it's more of a peninsula) feel much more substantial and the simple metal wall organizer keeps clutter off the counter. It's also great to see those old school mini TVs get some love.

I'm much more impressed by the laundry center around the corner.
They could make the island even more functional by getting a flatscreen tv and hanging it over the island, and maybe adding a charging center on the wall or counter for the multiplying cell phones, pdas, etc. we all seem to have.
great spot
