We spotted this idea in a recent tour of LA-based designer Hillary Hayne's kitchen: refacing kitchen cabinets with mirrors. Inspired by an antique mirror that she had, Hayne replicated the look thanks to mirror maker Ginette Lemonnier who created these sepia-toned mirrors by adding acid to the back create that tarnished effect.

Hayne says, "When I was thinking about the upper cabinets in this kitchen, I knew I didn't want to overuse the wood. Too heavy. Frosted glass? Too contemporary...[These mirrors] glow in the light and add a hint of glamour. I was trying to get away from the typical glass uppers."

Kinda more interested in the Barnwood cabinets themselves...
Doubt if you would be if they were just another barn wood cabinet. Booooooring! The worn mirrored surface makes the look.
Really?
I've never seen custom barnwood kitchen cabinets (tables, etc. - sure) until now, which is why I find them most interesting since its obvious that these are not your typical home-store modular cabinets.
Mirrors in kitchens - that I've seen...
I am not a fan on mirrors on cabinets.
