If you've held off putting plants on your balcony railing because you didn't feel like dealing with hardware, windowbox brackets, or even the space needed to store them, here's a solution. These flowerpots fit right over the balcony like a saddle and look great! And because they sit on top and not down over the edge, you get to enjoy them even from inside your apartment!. More info after the jump...

Most window boxes fit outside your railing, so while your neighbors can enjoy them, all you can usually see from inside are the metal brackets. The long containers are usually flimsy plastic and don't often look good unless you have tons of plants. Enter these cool modern planters from rephormmhaus.

They're sturdy yet lightweight, easy to store and even have two compartments to mix plants. Brilliant.

Love this!
39 euros means about $60 -- and I assume there must be shipping costs too -- ouch!
These are gorgeous. I would, of course, spend a lot of time worrying that they were going to fall on someone.
The same railing-attachment technique is pretty commonly found on long rectangular planters at your average, garden-variety suburban garden center. Can't say I've ever seen it on cute, small, round pots like these, though -- attractive!
^^^ whoops, not round. : ) pls forgive!

I love these. This would be perfect on my balcony. Now, if they were a third the price, I would be all over them.
how well do these hold up in windy weather?
I think they would only work if your railing were the exact right size. Too skinny or too fat and these would wobble or not fit at all. There doesn't seem to be any way to adjust them. Not all balconies are the same.
