Frank Lloyd Wright once said "The horizontal line is the line of domesticity." While we're pretty sure he was referring to something other than colored stripes on the exteriors of homes, this house on the East Side of Austin always catches our attention when we drive by...
We haven't quite decided how we feel about this home's exterior striped appearance. It's certainly modern and eye-catching. The golden tones aren't painted on but are a part of the home's exterior material itself. Covering the fronts and sides of the house and echoed in the shape and pattern of the windows, this home doesn't exactly blend quietly into the neighborhood. It reminds us of another home in Austin we've seen in that respect. We know one thing: the clean lines and simple layout of this house are spiced up with these yellows and golds!
What do you think about this home's exterior color treatment? Bold and inspiring? Or just not quite the right style? Would you ever try something like this for your own home? Let us know what you think!
